The Devils reached a third agreement with a non-qualified unrestricted free agent, re-signing Beau Bennett to a one-year deal.
The one-year, one-way contract is worth $725K. Bennett did not receive a qualifying offer on Monday, but general manager Ray Shero said the team was hopeful to still reach an agreement.
Bennett was acquired by New Jersey during last week's NHL Draft, when the Devils sent a third-round pick (77th overall) to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Bennett.
Bennett appeared in 33 games for the Penguins last season, notching 12 points.
