Devils sign defenseman Josh Jacobs



Newark, NJ – The New Jersey Devils today signed defenseman Joshua Jacobs to a three-year entry-level contract. The announcement was made by Devils’ Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

The contract will begin with the 2016-17 season and he will report to the Albany Devils (AHL) on an Amateur Try-Out agreement.

Jacobs, 20, was selected by New Jersey in the second round, 41st overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft. He finished this season when Sarnia (OHL) was eliminated from the playoffs on Tuesday. In 67 games, he scored four goals and 20 assists for 24 points, while totaling 38 penalty minutes.
