Devils shut out by Islanders for 3rd straight loss | Rapid reaction

NEW YORK -- Keith Kinkaid gave the Devils a chance. Thomas Greiss was just better.

The Devils failed to solve the Islanders' goalie for 60 minutes, and two goals allowed by Kinkaid was enough to hand the Devils their third-straight loss in a 3-0 Islanders win on Saturday at Barclays Center.

A Jordan Eberle power-play goal in the first period gave the Islanders an early lead , and Greiss shut down the Devils, stopping all 35 shots he faced. The Devils were shut out for the first time this season.

A Brock Nelson goal all but sealed the Devils' fate with 4:54 to play in the third period.
