Devils routed by Blue Jackets | Rapid reaction

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Devils held off as long as they could, but the flood gates opened for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second period on Saturday.

After goalie Keith Kinkaid saved 30 of the first 31 shots he faced, the Blue Jackets scored on three consecutive shots to blow the game open before cruising to a 6-1 win at Nationwide Arena.

The Devils dropped their third straight game, all in regulation, while the Blue Jackets inched up the tight Metropolitan Division standings. They trail the Devils by two points, 62-60.

The Blue Jackets peppered 51 shots on goal, the most the Devils have allowed in one game this season.
