and defenseman Mirco Mueller agreed on Tuesday to a two-year, one-way deal worth $1.7 million. The contract carries an $850K AAV.
The 18th overall pick of the 2013 NHL Draft will be entering his first season in New Jersey after struggling to find traction at the NHL level with the San Jose Sharks.
The Devils acquired Mueller in a pre-Expansion Draft trade with the Sharks, when New Jersey sent a 2017 second-round pick and a 2017 fourth-round pick for Mueller and a 2017 fifth-round pick. The Devils selected forward Marian Studenic with that fifth-round pick.
