Devils never considered shutting Cory Schneider down for rest of season

SUNRISE, Fla. — Once they got the diagnosis that he did not suffer a serious knee injury back on Mar. 4 in Dallas, the Devils have never considered shutting No. 1 goaltender Cory Schneider down for the remainder of the season.

"Not that we discussed. The team was clear about being smart with it and not trying to push it before it was ready, but I've felt physically good for two weeks now," said Schneider, who will back up Keith Kinkaid in Thursday night's game against the Florida Panthers at BB&T Center.
