Newark, NJ – Marcel Pronovost, a Hall-of-Fame defenseman, five-time Stanley Cup Champion as a player, and 11-time All-Star who served the New Jersey Devils as an Ontario-based scout since 1990, passed away Sunday afternoon at the age of 84 in his hometown of Windsor, Ontario.
“The entire hockey world is saddened by the loss of Marcel Pronovost,” said Devils’ President/General Manager Lou Lamoriello. “Marcel was a caring individual who dedicated his life to his family and to the game of hockey. He was a long-time member of our Devils’ family, a lifetime friend to the hockey community, and will be missed.
