Devils forward Marcus Johansson resumed skating on his own for the first time since his Jan. 23 concussion.
Johansson skated for the first time on Tuesday, and he hit the ice again on Wednesday.
Johansson suffered his second concussion of the season when he was elbowed in the head by Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand on Jan. 23 in Boston. The NHL suspended Marchand five games for the hit.
Johansson began working out off the ice a couple weeks after the injury, but Devils coach John Hynes said the forward plateaued in his recovery before finally taking the step up to skating on Tuesday.
