NEWARK -- Devils forward Marcus Johansson began skating lightly on his own four days ago, making another small step in his recovery from a concussion suffered on Nov. 1.
Johansson was again absent from the Devils' practice on Wednesday, and he has missed six straight games since suffering the concussion in Vancouver. He will not travel with the team for their upcoming three-game road trip.
He was placed on injured reserve when the Devils activated Kyle Palmieri.
With Johansson still out, the Devils should get a boost from the return of center Travis Zajac during their three-game road trip to Toronto, Winnipeg and Minnesota.
