Devils lose 9th straight on late Avalanche goal | Rapid reaction

The Devils' scoring drought ended, but their losing streak reached nine games with a loss to the team with the fewest points in the NHL.

Francois Beauchemin scored with 1:14 left in regulation, breaking a tie and lifting the Colorado Avalanche to a 3-2 win over the Devils on Thursday at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

The Avalanche never trailed, and despite tying the game twice, the Devils never capitalized.

The Devils dialed up the offensive pressure in the second period, outshooting the Avalanche, 13-2, but it was the home team that found the back of the net first.
