Devils goalie Cory Schneider returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since suffering a groin and hip injury on Jan. 23.
Schneider was part of a small group participating in an optional skate, but the session with seven other players was the first team activity where Schneider participated since the injury.
The goalie resumed skating on his own on Monday and Tuesday. Coach John Hynes said the Devils pushed him hard on Tuesday before seeing how he would respond on Wednesday. His presence at practice was a good indication he responded well.
