Devils fall 5-2 behind Canadiens' shooting barrage | Rapid reaction 12-8

On a night when the Devils were outshot 46-20, the scoreboard reflected it.

The Devils fell to the Montreal Canadiens, 5-2, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, allowing four of the final five goals of the game.

After Phillip Danault gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead in the first period, the Devils drew even when Adam Henrique placed a shot through the five hole of Canadiens goalie Carey Price. But the tie was short lived, and the Canadiens took control with a three-goal run.

Torrey Mitchell put the Canadiens back on top less than one minute later, allowing the home team to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
