The New Jersey Devils returned from the 2016 NHL Draft in Buffalo this past weekend with nine new prospects and the rights to 24-year-old winger Beau Bennett, acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a third round draft pick.
General manager Ray Shero traded the 11th overall pick in the draft to the Ottawa Senators for the 12th overall pick and the 80th overall pick in the third round. With the 12th pick, the Devils chose 6'2, 185 pound centerman Michael McLeod from the Mississauga Steelheads of the OHL, who has been called the fastest skater in this years draft.
