Devils defenseman Michael Kapla accepts qualifying offer

Defenseman Michael Kapla accepted his qualifying offer from the Devils, putting him under contract for the 2018-19 season.

The one-year, two-way deal is worth $874,125 at the NHL level and $70K at the AHL level.

With Kapla signing, the Devils have six restricted free agents left to sign in the coming weeks. NHL players Blake Coleman, Stefan Noesen, Miles Wood and Steven Santini, plus AHLers Nick Lappin and Kevin Rooney, still need new deals.

Coleman and Noesen both have arbitration hearings scheduled, with Coleman on July 22 and Noesen on August 1.
