The Bruins had everything they needed to get back on track — a road game against the banged-up Devils, a team they have owned lately.
Rookie Frank Vatrano scored early, Jonas Gustavsson made 19 saves and the Bruins continued to play well away from home, beating the Devils 4-1 on Friday night at Prudential Center in Newark for the 3,000th win in franchise history.
For the Devils, the loss meant a far less significant and more dubious mark for their season. It was the third straight regulation loss for the Devils this season.
Bobby Farnham scored for the Devils, and Cory Schneider finished with 27 saves.
