Devils Claim Parenteau, Wedgewood Clears
Tuesday was an eventful waiver day for the New Jersey Devils. , goalie Scott Wedgewood was placed on waivers yesterday and went unclaimed. In addition to the Wedgewood move, the Devils claimed right-winger PA Parenteau.
PA Parenteau, is then newest member of the organization, being claimed off waivers from the New York Islanders today. Parenteau, 33, signed a 1-year $1.25 million contract in the off-season but was unable to crack the Islanders’ roster for the season. Coming off a 20-goal season, Parenteau looks to compete for a right-wing spot along with Beau Bennett, Devante Smith-Pelley, Kyle Palmieri, and Sergey Kalinin.
