NEW YORK — The celebration was more like those you'd expect following a playoff victory. Not after the fifth game of the regular season.
Clearly, the Devils were thrilled to get their first win of the season, not to mention the first NHL victory for their coach and they showed it after Lee Stempniak scored the winning goal at 3:07 of overtime.
"Maybe that celebration was a little much for the fifth game of the year, but you could just tell everything — some frustration, anger, whatever it might have been — kind of came out there and it was exciting.
