Devils can't overcome disastrous opening 30 seconds in loss to Hurricanes | Rapid reaction

The first goal 22 seconds into play was a gut punch. The second goal eight seconds later kicked the Devils while they were down.

Two Carolina Hurricanes goals in the opening 30 seconds immediately put goalie Cory Schneider and the Devils behind the eight ball, and while they stopped the bleeding there, those two scores proved to be enough in a 2-1 Hurricanes win on Sunday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Pavel Zacha scored his second goal in as many games to get the Devils back within one goal, but they never found the equalizer.
