Forward Drew Stafford will return to Devils training camp on a professional tryout.
Stafford went unsigned throughout the offseason after playing the 2017-18 season with the Devils. After inking a one-year deal in August of 2017, Stafford finished with eight goals and seven assists over 59 regular-season games. He appeared in two of the Devils' five postseason games.
In order to earn another contract and make the Devils' roster again, Stafford will need to prove himself play his way onto the team this time around. Since general manager Ray Shero took over in 2015, the Devils have signed two tryout players to contracts -- Lee Stempniak in 2015-16 and Jimmy Hayes in 2017-18.
