COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Devils were handed one of their ugliest losses of the season on Saturday, when the Blue Jackets netted the first six goals of the night in a 6-1 win at Nationwide Arena.
The Devils couldn't break through early before the Blue Jackets ran away with things in the second period. Coach John Hynes said the better, more desperate and deserving team won on Saturday.
In terms of final scores and stats, Saturday's loss ranks among the worst of the season for the Devils. They matched a season high for shots and goals allowed, and the five-goal loss also matched their worst defeat of the season.
