The Devils reassigned forward John Quenneville to the Binghamton Devils in the AHL prior to Friday's practice at Prudential Center in Newark.
Only 11 forwards skated at Friday's practice, with Marcus Johansson missing the session due to illness.
Johansson did not miss any shifts in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators, and he took the ice twice in overtime. However, the second shift lasted just seven seconds before the Predators ended the game with a goal.
Forward Jesper Bratt, who participated in an optional morning skate with the team on Thursday, also did not practice.
