Devils, already out of playoff race, fall to Tampa Bay Lightning, 3-1 | Rapid reaction

TAMPA, Fla. — Cory Schneider, back from a sprained MCL in his right knee after missing almost a month, played well but suffered his fifth straight loss as the Devils fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning, 3-1, Saturday night at Amalie Arena.

Schneider hasn't won a game since Feb. 23 over the Rangers.

The game meant nothing to the Devils, who were eliminated from playoff contention earlier in the day when the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Ottawa Senators. However, it was encouraging to see Schneider show no signs of his knee injury.
