Devils acquire Marc Savard, 2nd-round pick from Florida

Newark, NJ – The New Jersey Devils today acquired forward Marc Savard and Florida’s second-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft in exchange for forwards Graham Black and Paul Thompson. The announcement was made by Devils’ Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

Savard, 38, has career totals of 207 goals, 499 assists and 706 points while adding 737 penalty minutes in 807 career NHL games. In 25 Stanley Cup Playoff contests, he has eight goals and 14 assists with 22 penalty minutes. He has not played since the 2010-11 season due to injury.
