PHILADELPHIA -- The Devils could make some early moves before the end of the NHL season to help the Albany Devils.
The Devils' AHL affiliate lost its seventh straight game on Friday, keeping them barely on the inside of the AHL playoff race. They hold the final spot in the North Division based on points percentage.
The Devils have been banking on some of their younger players -- Miles Wood, Steven Santini, John Quenneville, Joseph Blandisi and others -- getting bonus hockey in the AHL playoffs, a high-pressure situation.
Coach John Hynes said the Devils could eventually send some players down from the NHL roster to help Albany cross the finish line.
