The NHL preseason, as ever, is mostly void of meaning for those not fighting for an NHL spot, but this is one of the more exciting preseasons for Devils fans in recent memory with the presence of lots of young talent that could actually become impactful NHLers in the near future. Nico Hischier, perhaps the biggest fish in that pool of young talent, has started his first preseason in a Devils uniform off with a bang, with goals in each of his first two games. Without getting ahead of ourselves, it is at least an encouraging start for the most recent first-overall pick.
