Lou Lamoriello leaving the Devils this summer for a new challenge after 28 seasons and three Stanley Cups wasn't a shocker to everyone.
"I'm not surprised at all," former Devils captain Bryce Salvador said Wednesday in a conference call after announcing his retirement. "Lou's an individual that likes to make decisions and be in charge and have his pulse on everything ... and that's what makes Lou."
Lamoriello, 72, resigned as Devils president on July 23 to become general manager for the Toronto Maple Leafs 2 ½ months after he stepped down as Devils GM and hired Ray Shero to succeed him.
