Former Devil Brian Gionta won't re-sign with the Boston Bruins, making him an unrestricted free agent again on July 1.
The 39-year-old signed with the Bruins in February after serving as captain of Team USA at the 2018 Olympics. He was able to participate since he was not playing for an NHL team.
After signing with the Bruins, Gionta put up two goals and five assists in 20 regular-season games, but he appeared in just one postseason game before Boston was eliminated by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round.
