As Taylor Hall’s right thumb has kept him out of games, Brian Boyle has replaced him as the lone New Jersey Devils representative at the 2018 NHL All-Star Game. This was a good decision. Boyle has been fighting leukemia; his ongoing battle is an inspiration to others and something to cheer for. Additionally, Boyle has been well liked throughout his career and he was beloved in Tampa Bay. Check out the standing ovation he received during the NHL All-Star Skills Competition last night:
