The 32-year-old forward participated in his first full practice with the Devils after being diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia at the start of September's training camp.
After working out and skating on his own for weeks, Boyle was cleared for full practice on Saturday.
"I got the news yesterday that I could practice, a wave of nerves came over me," Boyle said Sunday. "Actually go out and skate with them, exciting get back on a routine and work toward a goal, I have a lot of work to do, as evidenced by that practice.
