Blackwood named to OHL's First All-Star Team

Devils goaltending prospect Mackenzie Blackwood earned another honor for his 2015-16 campaign when he was named an OHL First Team All-Star on Thursday.

Blackwood went 28-13-0-0 with the Barrie Colts, posting a 2.72 goals-against average, league-leading .921 save percentage (tied) and three shutouts. The Thunder Bay, Ont., native helped backstop the Colts to the Central Division title.

“It is an honor to receive this award considering the amount of great goalies throughout the league,” Blackwood told the OHL's website last month after being named the league’s goaltender of the year. “I would like to thank my teammates who battled in front of me all year, my coaches for helping me develop into the player I am today, and the whole Barrie Colts organization for the great opportunities that they have allowed me to experience over the past three seasons.
