If I had to pick one skill that nearly all prospects should try to excel in, then it's skating. No matter whether your strengths lie in creating offense, firing off shots, covering opponents, winning draws, and boding people in the slot or along the boards, you will need to be able to skate well. Those skills won't be so effective if getting from Point A to Point B on the ice is a challenge.
