7-year-old cancer patient drops ceremonial first puck at Devils game

BRIDGEWATER — Quinn Knapp, a seven-year-old cancer patient at the Valerie Center located in the Morristown Medical Center, showed the poise of a National Hockey League veteran on Hockey Fights Cancer night.

Knapp, who suffers from Leukemia, calmly walked onto center ice at the Prudential Center in Newark on Tuesday night and dropped the ceremonial first puck between Devils captain Andy Greene and Columbus Blue Jackets captain Nick Foligno.

"It was an awesome experience," said Kori Knapp, Quinn's mother. "Quinn loved it. I can't get over how poised he was for a seven-year-old. He was out there with all those big hockey players.
