1 area where Devils could exploit Lightning in playoff series

TAMPA, Fla. -- Finding a weakness of a 54-win team isn't easy.

Fortunately for the Devils, one possessed by the Tampa Bay Lightning feeds into one of New Jersey's strengths.

The Lightning enter the teams' first-round series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs after finishing 27th in the NHL in penalty kill percentage during the regular season. Their 76.1 kill percentage ranked higher than just four other teams.

Meanwhile, the Devils clicked for a 21.4 power-play percentage, good for 10th best in the NHL. They also converted 26.7 percent of their power plays at Prudential Center, giving them the best home power-play percentage in the league.
