FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Perhaps the only feeling better than celebrating a playoff victory in front of your home supporters is celebrating a playoff victory in front of traveling supporters at a rival’s venue.
That’s exactly what the New England Revolution were able to do on November 23, 2014, in the first leg of the Eastern Conference Championship at Red Bull Arena. There was a palpable energy in the building from the start with approximately 1,250 traveling Revolution supporters making their voices heard at RBA, courtesy of more than 20 buses provided by the club.
New England’s loyal road support had plenty of reason to cheer, first in the 17th minute when Teal Bunbury silenced the home crowd with a stunning left-footed drive from distance, and again in the 85th minute when Jermaine Jones scored a dramatic game winner, sliding to bundle in Bunbury’s pass.
