Now in his 10th year as a professional, Chris Tierney has seen a lot but nothing like the tifo that the New England Revolution supporters lifted on Saturday.
The fans revealed their latest artwork just before kickoff of the Revs-D.C. game. This one was a re-imagining of a 1976 album for Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers, which features the song “New England.” The updated version has Tierney’s image replacing that of Richman.
“To see something like that was amazing,” Tierney said. “To feel appreciated by the fans like that – really special moment for me.
