Teal Bunbury’s two-goal match against the New York Red Bulls in Round Four of the 2019 US Open Cup has been recognized by TheCup.US as their “Player of the Round.”
Voted on by writers covering the for the tournament dedicated site (I did not vote though I did receive a ballot from Josh Halaka), Bunbury’s heroics for the 10-man New England Revolution last week in a 3-2 victory helped guide the Revs into the fifth round where they’ll face Orlando City SC tomorrow night in Florida.
Bunbury scored a late equalizer in the 85th minute to send the match into extra time.
