Rumor: Revolution to add Ghanaian defender

The New England Revolution are interested in Ghanaian defender Moses Sarpong, according to a report from Sports World Ghana.

The article, published Friday, claims that the 19-year-old Sarpong will be heading to the United States because he’s currently unable to play for International Allies FC of Ghana.

Despite his youth, Sarpong has already found success while playing in Ghana’s top flight. During the 2015/16 season, he made 28 appearances for Medeama, helping the team lift the Super Cup. In January, Sarpong parted ways with the club due to a contract dispute.

If the rumor is true and Sarpong does sign with the Revolution, he would be competing against the likes of Chris Tierney and Donnie Smith at the left back position.
