The New England Revolution are looking to sign defender Gabriel Somi, according to various reports out of Sweden.
Somi, 26, has spent his entire career in Sweden, having played for Örebro Syrianska IF (2009-11), Syrianska FC (2012-15), and Östersunds FK (2016-present). He’s now looking to make a move and MLS is one of the rumored destinations. He’s also being courted by European teams, most notably Hearts FC of Scotland.
If Somi joins the Revolution, he’d likely feature as a left back. This would put him in direct competition with veteran Chris Tierney, whose option was picked up in November.
