The New England Revolution are now 2-2-5 after Wednesday’s loss to New York City FC.
The Revs struggled in the first half, failing to record a shot on goal. Their best chance came when Tommy McNamara moved towards the end line before cutting the ball back towards the penalty spot. Cristian Penilla connected with the pass, but sent the ball well over the cross bar.
NYCFC’s best opportunity came off of a corner kick in the 14th minute. Matt Turner was there to make the close-range save.
Unhappy with the flow of the game, head coach Bruce Arena made two changes at halftime.
