On Monday, the Revolution waived forward Michael Gamble, who the club selected in the second round (30th overall) of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. Gamble dressed for the Revolution on April 30 vs. Orlando City SC, but never appeared in a regular-season match. His lone action came during a short-term loan with the Rochester Rhinos (USL), when he made a brief, 27-minute appearance on April 17.
Once expected to mature as an attacking midfielder, Gamble struggled to break into the gameday 18, watching fellow rookie Femi Hollinger-Janzen steal the early-season headlines. His lack of minutes did not come as a surprise, however, as the Revolution field a deep attacking roster, with Hollinger-Janzen, Juan Agudelo, Teal Bunbury, Diego Fagundez and Kelyn Rowe all competing for minutes.
