In two short weeks, the Revolution and Rapids will kick off the 2017 MLS season in Commerce City, Colo. This afternoon, the two clubs will square off in a tune-up match during the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup.
Both teams have already played an inaugural match in the tournament, with the Revolution falling to the Houston Dynamo and the Rapids drawing with Sporting Kansas City.
Throughout the Revolution’s midweek match, the club struggled to contain the Dynamo attack while fielding a trialist-heavy lineup. This time around, Jay Heaps’ roster should more closely resemble a gameday lineup, with defenders Antonio Mlinar Delamea and Benjamin Angoua set to make their Diamond Cup debuts.
