Revolution v. Sporting KC: Three thoughts

On Saturday, the New England Revolution beat Sporting KC 1-0 on a Teal Bunbury goal. Here are three thoughts from the game.

  1. It’s a goal. When Teal Bunbury scored in the 44th minute, I was sure he was offside because he was well behind the defense. As such, I was confused when referee David Gantar sought advice from the Video Assistant Referee. Ultimately, it was ruled that the goal would stand, a decision that was verified by replays. If you watch the tape, you can see that Roger Espinoza taps the ball forward.
