FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution have signed defender Joshua Smith.
New England’s fourth-round selection (75th overall) in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, Smith officially joins the club after four years at the University of San Francisco. The six-foot-four defender was named 2nd Team All-WCC in his senior season. In all, Smith made 71 appearances, including 70 starts, and recorded five goals with three assists in his five years at San Francisco. He logged 297 minutes in six preseason appearances for the Revolution.
Born in Fort Polk, La, the 24-year-old was raised in Kaiserslautern, Germany while his father served in the United States Army.
