Revolution add former New York Cosmos coach to staff

Jay Heaps will have additional help in 2017, as former New England Revolution defender Carlos Llamosa as rejoined the club as an assistant coach and scout.

“Carlos was an excellent player and an even better teammate, and we are thrilled to add his passion and energy to our team,” Heaps said in a team press release.

Llamosa, 47, spent ten years playing in the league, including four seasons with D.C. United during which he helped the club win three MLS Cups. After a one-year stay with the Miami Fusion, Llamosa linked up with the Revs in 2002, playing a significant role in the team’s MLS Cup run.
