The New England Revolution got an important win on Wednesday night, as they defeated New York City FC 1-0.
The Revs weathered the storm during the early going. Michael Mancienne almost had an own goal when his block attempt sent the ball into the cross bar. Soon after, Brad Knighton had to get big to stop an onrushing Valentin Castellanos. Sebastien Ibeagha had a clear header off of a corner kick, but his bid went wide.
Brian Wright hit the woodwork in the 25th minute when he sent in a stinging shot. After fighting to bring down a long ball, Wright lost possession due to a poor touch.
