Revolution 0, Union 1: Philadelphia win on odd goal

The 53rd minute of Saturday’s game between the New England Revolution and Philadelphia Union was certainly odd.

Cory Burke got on the end of a through ball by Haris Medunjanin and proceeded to sprint towards Matt Turner’s net. Burke didn’t have any support or defenders, as they were deterred by the linesman raising his flag. Burke didn’t stop, however, and the striker beat Turner to score the game’s only goal. It took a few moments for it to become official though, as referee Drew Fischer had to go to video review.
