Teal Bunbury opened the scoring with the Revolution’s quickest goal of the season in the third minute, when he combined with Lee Nguyen and scored with his left foot from the penalty area. With the assist, Nguyen – who doubled New England’s lead by converting a penalty kick in the 80^th minute – became the first player in Revolution history to reach 50 goals and 50 assists. New York City’s Alexander Callens pulled one back for the hosts in the third minute of second-half stoppage time.
