NEW YORK, N.Y. – The New England Revolution played New York City FC to a 1-1 draw at Yankee Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Bobby Shuttleworth was put to work early, turning away a shot on goal from New York City FC stalwart David Villa in the second minute. However, NYCFC got on the scoreboard in the 10th minute, as Villa rang a shot off the crossbar that was headed into the net by midfielder Thomas McNamara.
New England settled in as the half wore on and generated a slew of chances. Moments after Teal Bunbury sailed a shot inches above the crossbar in the 36th minute, the Revolution found an equalizer in the 38th minute.
