FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (3-8-4, 13 pts.) and D.C. United played to a 1-1 draw before a crowd of 20,131 at Gillette Stadium on Saturday evening. Revolution forward Juan Agudelo opened the scoring in the 61st minute – five minutes after goalkeeper Matt Turner was ejected for a red card – with a header inside of the near post, but D.C. United's Wayne Rooney equalized by converting a penalty kick in the 90th minute.
New England played the last 34 minutes of the match with 10 men after Turner was issued a straight red card for denial of an obvious goal scoring opportunity on Rooney.
