Lee Nguyen converted his third penalty and sixth goal of the season in the ninth minute to put the Revs up early in the match. New York's Bradley Wright-Phillips equalized for the Red Bulls shortly after halftime, burying a rebound opportunity in the 47th minute. New York's Daniel Royer put the Red Bulls on top in the 74th minute on what proved to be the game-winning goal.
